Queen Helene Masques Review

I love these masks. They really leave my skin with a clean feeling. I've had both of these for over a year and i still havent gone half way through the tube (an i use them about a couple times a month). Both of these are under $5 and work really well. I think a mask should be a staple in every skin regimen. Even if you don't have any of the problems that they claim to fix, this is a great way to refresh your skin.

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

It claims: "Helps dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads, & shrink enlarged pores".

I think if you use this product everyday for a couple days it will definitely get rid of acne. When I have a pimple i will either sleep with this on the pimple or leave it on for 20-30 minutes and I already notice the pimple reduce in size and redness.

As for getting rid of blackheads and shrinking enlarged pores, it hasn't done that for me. Maybe if I used it 3-4 times a week it would do that, but i just haven't had noticed either one of those problems diminish or go away.

This masque really leaves my skin feeling clean once I rinse it off. I also like that this doesn't have that many ingredients in it (11 total).

Queen Helene Mud Pack Masque

Claims: Old-Fashioned, time-tested treatment to soften lines and tighten sagging skin.

Although I dont have many lines or sagging skin I notice my skin does feel softer and tighter after using this. This is my least favorite out of the two but I still like it. I like to use it when I'm tired of using the mint julep.

I would recommend getting them both so you can alternate but you could only get one I would choose the Mint Julep Mask. These masks feel like they extract all of the impurities out of your skin.

Have you tried any of these?

Style Icon: Solange

One of my Style icons is Solange Knowles. Today (6/24) is her birthday. Most of us know her as the baby sister of Beyonce but she has really come out of her sister's limelight and shined on her own. She juggles being a mom, a singer, and one of the newest faces for L'Oreal and Carol's Daughter.
I love her retro inspired, yet still modern, style.

Summer Must Have: Sunglasses

I always have sunglasses on me or in the car, no matter what season it is. Not only are they cute to wear but they protect your eyes from the scorching sun. I've compiled a list of some hot shades in different styles and prices.

Mini Haul

This past Saturday, I went shopping at a few places and picked up three things from Target, the Dollar Store, and Walgreens.

Photobucket

I picked up this Banana Boat Ultra Defense Continuous Spray Sunscreen in SPF 85 from the Dollar Store for $1

Photobucket

I don't usually get SPF that high but It was the only one they had. The sad thing is I realized it only protects against UVB rays and not UVA (from what i heard aren't sunscreens supposed to protect you against both?) I plan on doing a little more research to find out if this product is really effective or not.

I also picked up another Cleanser. The Clean & Clear Morning Burst Skin Brightening Facial Cleanser. I picked it up at target for around $6 (or maybe $5 and some change). I hope it works just as well as the last morning burst cleanser I had. But it smells really good so that is a good thing.

Photobucket

My favorite thing I purchased was this scarf at Walgreens. First off, I had no clue Walgreens sold scarves. They are 2/$10 or $5 for one and they didn't have many options but some of them were cute. The one i picked up is a black and white floral. The material is 100% Rayon and its light enough to wear during these summer months. I really love scarves and cant wait to incorporate this scarf into my wardrobe or even wear it as a turban on my head. we'll see....

If I end up liking the cleanser and the sunscreen I will definitely do a review on them.

Product Review: Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser

The Clean & Clear website says it "Wakes you up and gives your skin an energized feel"

Photobucket

The Claims
  • Oil-Free
  • Has bursting beads
  • wakes you up
  • rinses clean
  • contains vitamin c & ginseng

Pros
  • Affordable (most stores charge around $7 or less)
  • Easily Accessible (available at almost most grocery stores, convenient stores, or supermarkets)
  • Cleans Skin
  • Has a nice citrus scent (not overpowering though)
  • Leaves skin energized (because of the ginseng and citrus scent, i think)
  • The bottle ( I love how it isnt a squeeze out tube, its a pump)
  • Gel-like texture (it just feels really good to me)
Con
  • I notice it dried my skin out (this is just my experience. I immediately have to apply a moisturizer. disclaimer: this could also be because i use a face brush when using this, which is like exfoliating).
Photobucket

Yup....only one con

I've used this product for about 3 months and I haven't really had any problems with it. I used to get a lot of acne also and when I started using this I rarely (if at all) get any acne anymore. BUT as soon as I stopped, I started getting it again.

Would I purchase again? Sure...even though I didn't lol (i decided to try a new face wash which I will be doing a review on in a few weeks, when i get a good feel of it).

If you've been thinking about trying it, I think you should.

Music Monday: Katy Perry

I freakin love katy perry lol

This is her song Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)

I think the video is super cute and its funny that she put the infamous Rebecca Black in her video.

It kinda reminds me of a shorter, watered down, P.G., less raunchy version of "The Hangover", where you had such a wasted night you have to look at the pictures to see what happened
