Style Influence: Tika Sumpter

Tika Sumpter is a relatively new actress, most of of either know her from her role on Gossip Girl, One Life to Live or The Game. Over the past few months I've seen her on blogs and I've admired her style. She definitely isnt afraid to play with prints and different silhouettes. Her style seems very versatile. She plays with feminine and a touch of masculine looks and they both work for her. I also love her make up, her face is always BEAT lol.

Blue Hawaii

This post is for those 21+ but im sure you can make something like this with non alcoholic beverages.

Photobucket

I first had this drink on my birthday a few weeks ago. I decided to get it because it was blue and the waiter told me a lot of people order it. When I got back home I wanted to make it myself so I googled how to make it and came up with some type of concoction lol but it is super yummy. Now I do not drink often so this small amount I use makes me super sleepy lol.

Photobucket

What I use:

1 oz of light rum
1 oz of cream of coconut
1 oz of blue curacao
2 oz of pineapple juice

I didn't even bother to count the calories because I knew it would make me upset lol. but whatever, Its not like I drink it everyday. It is definitely okay to spoil yourself every once in a while when it comes to drinks (or food).

It turns out really yummy and sweet. I think this would be perfect for a summer party or small get together.

The cream of coconut gives it a nice creamy mix when you shake all the ingredients up together but you can definitely just have the coconut at the bottom of the drink and it will give a nice gradient effect.

Whats your favorite drink (alcoholic or nonalcoholic)?

Small Target Haul

I should probably do collective hauls instead of a buncha different small hauls but whatevs. I was in target on Sunday and decided to pick up a few things.

Target has (or had, I dont know if its still going on. You will probably have to check your local target) selected Sally Hansen products on clearance. I decided to pick up this Sally Hansen HD Hi-Definition Nail Color in DVD (#15) and it was only $2.50. I cant wait to try this color out.

The other one I picked up was the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips in Electric Shock (#160). This was on sale for $4.25 (regular price is $8.50). I saw dulce candy make a video about getting this color so when I saw it there I had to pick it up.

I was in the travel size beauty things ( I don't know why, I just like miniature sized things lol) and I picked up another ponds cream. My mom stole mine that I picked up a few weeks ago and its in her bathroom so I wanted to get another one for myself. I got the Pond's Clarant B3 anti-dark spot moisturizer for normal to dry skin. I didn't realize I got the normal to dry skin until I was home but whatever, and I also didn't realize it was for dark spots. I really wanted this because the packaging was pink lol. But I do have dark spots and I will definitely see if it helps them. I think this product was somewhere between $1.50-$2 which isn't bad as a sample, and it will probably last me a while.

Also in the travel section, I picked up some contact solution because I'm almost out of mine at home. I got the Re-nu multi-Purpose Solution. Pretty boring but I needed it lol. (and sorry the picture is crooked, I was rushing lol)

Crystal Light Is The Business

I love Crystal Light. Now when I first started drinking it I didnt really like it because I was so used to drinking flavorful drinks like soda and juice. Now that I'm used to it, it is actually yummy. If you are trying to start drinking water you should definitely try these. You are getting (some of) your daily water intake. They come in packets that make 1 quart, 2 quarts for pitchers and small packets to pour in water bottles.

The great thing is a bottle of this (or a serving) is only 5 calories per serving. You cant beat that except if you are drinking plain water.

The flavors I have:
Strawberry Kiwi
Strawberry Orange Banana
Iced Tea Natural Lemon
Natural Pink Lemonade - My favorite
Antioxidant Natural Cherry Pomegranate
Metabolism Green Tea Peach Mango
Sunrise Classic Orange - great for breakfast, it tastes similar to orange juice

Lately I have noticed they have certain ones for specific problems. As I just mentioned they have antioxidant (which im sure is to fight antioxidants) and the green tea peach mango is probably supposed to boost your metabolism (which is what most green teas do). I noticed in stores they have one that is supposed to help your skin, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm not sure if they actually "work" though.

Most of the time I get these on BOGO deals so thats when I stock up. I know Publix (which is the grocery store in my local area) has them on sale just about every other week, so you should check your local ads to see if they have them. I'm sure you can find this in most grocery stores. They are usually around $2-$4.

Have you ever tried crystal light? or whats your favorite "healthy" drink?

Music Monday: Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean recently released a new song last week. I am in freaking love.

Thinking About You

I love his musical style.... its not super r&b, you can tell that he is influenced by all types of music. This dude is simply amazing, I cant wait until he releases an album.

...and since its Music Monday, I want to give an RIP out to Amy Winehouse. I really loved her music and she will definitely be missed. My favorite song of hers was Me and Mr. Jones. Check it out below.
